KENT, WASH. — Logan Edmonstone stopped all 40 shots he faced but the Kamloops Blazers fell 1-0 to the Seattle Thunderbirds in a shootout Friday (Dec. 19) night.

Seattle’s Marek Sklenicka finished with a 36 save shutout as both teams combined for 71 shots in regulation at the accesso ShoWare Center on the final day before the WHL’s holiday break.

The Thunderbirds then outshot the Blazers 5-0 in overtime but Edmonstone – who was named the third star on the night – was able to turn everything aside.

The 18-year-old Edmonstone was finally beaten in the shootout when Antonio Martorana and Brock England scored for Seattle. Both JP Hurlbert and Isa Guram were unable to get pucks past Sklenicka, who was named the game’s first star.
