Storm’s Brenner Fyfe named KIJHL goaltender of the month

KAMLOOPS — Brenner Fyfe‘s perfect month has won him the KIJHL’s Goaltender of the Month award for November.

The 19-year-old Fyfe won all seven of his starts as the Kamloops Storm went a perfect 10-0 in November. Fyfe stopped 213 of 227 shots he faced, and finished with a 2.00 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage last month.

Fyfe made over 30 saves on four occasions last month. He had 40 saves in 6-2 win over Quesnel on Nov. 1, 34 saves in a 4-2 win over Sicamous on Nov. 8, 35 saves in a 4-1 win over Castlegar on Nov. 21, and 36 saves in a 3-1 win against 100 Mile House on Nov. 29.

The Lethbridge native boasts a 14-3 record this season, which has him tied for the league lead in wins. His .924 save percentage is currently third-best, while his 2.59 goals-against average is fourth best across the KIJHL.

The Storm are on a 12-game point streak that has seen them improve to 19-4-1-1, which is good for 40 points from 25 games. The Doug Birks Division leaders also sit atop the overall standings, three points ahead of second place Kelowna, who have two games in hand.
