RCMP searching for suspect after man steals nearly $800 worth of liquor from Merritt store

MERRITT, B.C. — RCMP in Merritt are searching for a suspect who stole nearly $800 worth of liquor. 

Police say officers from the Merritt detachment responded to the BC Liquor store at 104-1700 Garcia Street just after 7:00 p.m. last Tuesday (Dec. 2). Officers searched the area and talked to nearby residents but weren’t able to find the suspect.

The suspect is described as a man standing five-foot-nine. He was wearing a red and black Cummins hat with a white “C” on the front, and was also seen in a black and tan raincoat and black jeans.

“Unfortunately, all investigational leads to identify the male has not produced results and we are now asking the public to assist us in identifying this male so that he can be arrested and brought before the courts” Merritt RCMP spokesperson Cst. Blake Chursinoff said.
