Williams Lake RCMP receives funding to increase downtown police presence
WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Residents in Williams Lake are being told to expect an increased police presence in the downtown core throughout the holiday season and into the new year.
Williams Lake RCMP say they’ve received funding to provide consistent, enhanced, proactive and highly visibly police presence to prevent and suppress violent criminal activity.
In a news release Wednesday (Dec. 3), the Williams Lake detachment says it completed an application for the Community Safety and Targeted Enforcement Program (C-STEP) in late November 2025.
Williams Lake RCMP credits the C-STEP funding in helping officers identify, locate and arrest suspects connected to a reported theft from a locked vehicle on Nov. 27.
