Thompson Rivers University names 5 distinguished alumni for 2025

KAMLOOPS — Thompson Rivers University (TRU) has announced its crop of distinguished alumni for 2025.

They include Robert Atwood and Richard Sullivan, who co-founded Kamloops company Hummingbird Drones. The former BC Wildfire Service firefighters have grown their company into a critical part of the province’s fire suppression efforts every year.

Monica Sophia McAlduff, an Adams Lake Indian Band member and CEO of the First Nations Health Authority, has built a 30-year in Indigenous and psychiatric health care.

Andrew Cooper has forged a successful career in the performing arts, including in theatre and film.

Dr. Mandy Manak is well-known in Kamloops as a compassionate and skilled physician in the field of addiction medicine.
