TNRD appoints new Loon Lake Fire Chief

LOON LAKE, B.C. — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) has announced the appointment of Franko Borri as the new chief of the Loon Lake Fire Department.

Borri will take over from the outgoing Daryl Hart, who has been Fire Chief in Loon Lake for the past several years, on Dec. 1. He had been serving as Fire Captain in Loon Lake.

In a statement announcing the change, the TNRD said Hart’s leadership “has been instrumental in maintaining a strong and effective fire service.”

“It has been a privilege to work alongside Chief Hart with evolving and strengthening the Loon Lake Fire Service,” Jason Tomlin, the TNRD’s Manager of Fire Protection Services, said. “His leadership and commitment to the community and the Loon Lake firefighters have set a strong foundation for the future.”

Tomlin said both Chief Borri and Chief Hart will work together to ensure there is a seamless transition in leadership at the Loon Lake Fire Department.
