THE TATTLE OF HASTINGS: Zablotny reflects on Red Bull Rampage victory

KAMLOOPS — Red Bull Rampage is widely considered the most prestigious competition in freeride mountain biking – tantamount to the discipline’s Super Bowl or world championship.

The event takes place annually in rugged mountains in Zion National Park in Virgin, Utah.

Riders must build their own course and jumps on steep, rocky cliffs, picking lines that run through near-vertical chutes and treacherous terrain.

Each participant gets two attempts to complete their run. A panel of judges scores each run, with the single highest-scoring run taking first prize.

Hayden Zablotny moved to Kamloops from Vernon earlier this year.
