Another day, another hunter rescue for Kamloops Search and Rescue volunteers
WALHACHIN, B.C. — For the second straight day this week, Kamloops Search and Rescue (KSAR) volunteers were deployed to help rescue a hunting party.
In a social media post, KSAR says the call came in around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 25) for a father and son who were hunting in a side-by-side near Walhachin.
The pair hit a rock with their vehicle, flipping it onto its side. When their winch lost power, they realized they would not be able to get to safety without help and called 9-1-1.
Eleven KSAR members responded, making contact with the hunters around 5:00 p.m. The searchers used their winch to right the side-by-side, eventually taking the pair back to their vehicle.
