Kamloops Search and Rescue commends Cache Creek-area hunter for recognizing his limits, calling for help
CACHE CREEK, B.C. — Kamloops Search and Rescue (KSAR) is lauding a hunter for recognizing when he could not rescue himself and calling for help.
The rescue unfolded Monday (Nov. 24) near Arrowstone Park in the Cache Creek area.
In a social media post, KSAR says the man tested his limits trying to navigate “difficult terrain.”
“While deer hunting, the subject entered difficult terrain,” said the post. “[A]fter attempting to move downhill and then back uphill, he realized he was exhausted and unable to continue safely. He made the smart choice to activate his iPhone’s SOS, which sent his location coordinates.”
