WolfPack basketball teams fall to Victoria as men finally taste defeat
KAMLOOPS — The TRU WolfPack men’s basketball have finally tasted defeat in the Canada West season.
The tenth-ranked WolfPack were beaten 71-58 by the Victoria Vikes in a highly-anticipated Friday (Nov. 21) meeting at the TCC. The Vikes are the reigning U SPORTS national champions, and they came into the game ranked third in the nation.
Jayden Green led the WolfPack with a team-high 14 points as well as three rebounds and three steals. Steve Stinson tallied ten points while both Jayden Stephens and Cason Scott finished the night with nine points.
Victoria led 33-27 at the half, and they pulled away in the third quarter as they poured in 23 points to TRU’s 12. While the WolfPack outscored the Vikes in the fourth quarter, 19-15, Victoria’s lead was too much for TRU to overcome.
