20th annual B-100 Basics for Babies set for Friday morning in Delta Hotel
KAMLOOPS — Friday morning (Nov. 21), the Delta Hotel will be filled with people taking in a breakfast buffet, and bringing formula, diapers and cash for the Kamloops Food Bank at the annual B-100 Basics for Babies fundraiser.
This will be the 20th year of Basics for Babies. Items donated at the breakfast event will stock the shelves of the ‘baby bank’, which is a dedicated section of the local food bank where families in need can pick up diapers, baby food and formula, knitted baby blankets and toques, and other essentials.
“The children who we served 20 years ago from this program with diapers, and with formula and with the essentials, they’re now 20,” exclaims Bernadette Siracky, the Kamloops Food Bank’s executive director. “We really have affected the next generation in a very meaningful way, a very impactful way.”
