Detour in effect on Aberdeen Drive as City of Kamloops responds to water main break

KAMLOOPS — A section of Aberdeen Drive is closed to traffic as the City of Kamloops responds to a water main break.

In a post of social media, the city says eastbound lanes on Aberdeen Drive are closed between Van Horne Drive and Laurier Drive. It noted traffic is being detoured via Van Horne Drive.

“Crews will be on scene, and the detour will be in place this evening, with expected completion [Saturday] , Nov. 1, at approximately 5:00 p.m.,” the post said.

The city did not elaborate on the nature of the water main break, or how many homes in the area are affected.
