Blazers fall to Silvertips 6-3 for third straight loss

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers have lost three straight games after falling 6-3 to the Everett Silvertips at home Wednesday (Oct. 29) night.

Trailing 1-0 after the first period, Kamloops local Jordan Keller scored his sixth goal in four games by finishing a pass off the rush early in the second.

The Blazers fell behind again after they surrendered two goals to Shea Busch halfway through the second period.

Kamloops then got back to within striking distance before the period ended when Logan Lanti scored his first career Western Hockey League (WHL) by sneaking behind the defence and finishing a chance in tight to cut the Silvertips’ lead to 3-2.

However, the Silvertips never let the Blazers get close again as they scored two goals to give themselves a 5-2 lead. Nathan Behm cut in and scored for the Blazers late in the third period but the Silvertips iced the game with an empty net goal for the 6-3 win.

The Blazers fall to 6-7-1-1 on the 2025-26 WHL season, good for 14 points in 15 games. They’re fifth in the B.C. Division and eighth in the Western Conference.

The Blazers begin a three-game U.S. road trip Saturday (Nov. 1) in Portland against the Winterhawks with stops in Wenatchee on Sunday (Nov. 2) and Spokane Tuesday (Nov. 4).

Their next home game will be on Saturday, Nov. 8, against the Silvertips in a 6:00 p.m. puck drop at Sandman Centre.
