Mounties use taser to collar knife-wielding suspect in downtown Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — RCMP used a taser to take down a knife-wielding woman in downtown Kamloops Wednesday morning (Oct. 22).

In a news release, detachment spokesperson Cpl. Dana Napier says officers were called to the 400-block of Victoria Street at about 8:30 a.m., responding to the report of a woman waving a large knife erratically.

Responding officers took the woman into custody with the help of a jolt from a taser.

“It is early in the investigation, officers are investigating to determine all of the circumstances surrounding this incident,” said Napier.
