KAMLOOPS — When Glenn Stockford collapsed onto the ice during a recreational hockey game about two years ago at Valleyview Arena, six players jumped into action and performed bystander CPR to help save his life.

Pat Dunn, Duncan Harvey, Lee Hooper, Don McLennan, Jeff Owens and Doug Payette were recognized by BC Emergency Health Services during an awards presentation last week at BC Ambulance Station 315.

Stockford, who was clinically dead on the ice, emerged from the ordeal with a pacemaker, but without brain damage and still able to play hockey with his buddies.
