KAMLOOPS — Three members of a North Shore family are in hospital after a fire at their home early Saturday (Oct. 18).

Kamloops RCMP say they were called at 4:20 a.m. on Saturday to help Kamloops Fire Rescue (KFR) as they fought a fire in the 1300-block of Sitka Street.

“All three residents were able to get out of the house,” said detachment spokesperson Cpl. Dana Napier. “Unfortunately, they did suffer injuries as a result of the fire and remain in hospital in serious condition. The investigation into the cause of the fire is in the early stages and continues to be ongoing.”

Napier notes the RCMP General Investigation Service (GIS) team is working with KFR to determine what sparked the blaze.
