WolfPack women eliminated from playoff picture with 2-1 loss to UBCO; Lufo sets goal-scoring record

KAMLOOPS — Esi Lufo set a new WolfPack record with her 12th career goal, but it wasn’t enough as the TRU WolfPack women’s soccer team fell 2-1 to UBC Okanagan Saturday (Oct. 18).

Lufo’s ninth goal of the season came in the 28th minute to tie the score at 1-1. The tally ties her atop the Canada West leaderboard and is the most ever in the program’s Canada West history.

The Heat’s Annika Gross replies in the 34th minute to lift UBCO to victory.

The loss eliminates the WolfPack (5-7-0) from playoff contention.

The team will wrap up its season Sunday (Oct. 19) with a rematch against the Heat. Game time is 2:30 p.m. at Hillside Stadium.
