Tedford takes Ashcroft council byelection

ASHCROFT, B.C. — The Village of Ashcroft has a full council once again.

Residents went to the polls in a by-election Saturday (Oct. 18), electing Cameron Tedford to fill the council seat vacated by Doreen Lambert this summer.

Tedford finished with 156 votes, well ahead of candidates Darril Fosty (85) and Wayne LaGroix (58).

Lambert resigned in July amid a relocation to Nanaimo.

Tedford will serve a term of almost exactly one year. The next general municipal election in BC is set for October 17, 2026.
