Voting underway in Village of Ashcroft by-election
ASHCROFT, B.C. — It’s by-election day in the Village of Ashcroft as residents head to the polls to elect a new councillor.
Residents will be able to vote at the Ashcroft Community Hall at 409 Bancroft Street between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18. They’ll have three candidates to choose from – Darril Fosty, Wayne LaGroix and Cameron Tedford.
The successful candidate will serve approximately one-year on village council as the next municipal election in British Columbia is scheduled for Oct. 17, 2026.
This by-election is being held to replace former Councillor Doreen Lambert, who resigned in July. Lambert, who was in her third term on Ashcroft council, stepped aside as she moved to Nanaimo.
