KSAR resumes search of Thompson River waters for man who jumped off Overlanders Bridge over the summer
KAMLOOPS — Residents are being asked to give Kamloops Search and Rescue (KSAR) crews space in the water and along the shores of the Thompson River Saturday (Oct. 18).
In a post to social media, KSAR says it was tasked by the RCMP to actively search the river Saturday as part of ongoing efforts to find Braden Wallace-Peters, the 23-year-old man who jumped from the Overlanders Bridge on July 30.
Witnesses say Wallace-Peters surfaced briefly before disappearing back into the onrushing Thompson River. On July 31, Kamloops RCMP said Wallace-Peters is presumed to have drowned.
Speaking to CFJC Today in August, Nancy Peters, Braden’s mother, said the incident on July 30 was a recreational jump that tragically went wrong.
