Holmes of city, councillor Hall talk new North Shore mini rink, ice shortage in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — City of Kamloops sport, recreation and wellness manager Sherri Holmes said the North Shore Mini Rink project was completed on time and under budget, with a price tag of about $250,000.

The rink was constructed inside the former home of the McArthur Island Curling Club, which has amalgamated with the Kamloops Curling Club at its downtown headquarters.

Now one week removed from its grand opening at the McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre, Holmes said the rink is absorbing some of the voracious demand for ice in the city.
