KAMLOOPS — It was a quiet month of September for the Kamloops building sector, although it’s still on pace to surpass its production in 2024.

New numbers released by the City of Kamloops Building Inspection Division show nearly $14.9 million in activity was recorded over 80 permits in September 2025, nearly half the value of $27 million recorded over 94 permits during the same month in 2024.

Notable categories include 17 duplexes and second suite permits bringing in $3.4 million, seven commercial permits bringing in $2.8 million, four single family dwellings bringing in $2.6 million, one 59-unit permit bringing in $2.4 million and a retaining wall bringing in $1.9 million.

Year-to-date, the city has doled out 782 permits totaling nearly $297 million as of September 2025, up from $277 million over 735 permits as of the same point in 2024.
