Suspect in series of Lower Sahali fires arrested, released due to lack of evidence: Kamloops RCMP
KAMLOOPS — A man was arrested then later released after multiple fires were started in Lower Sahali early Sunday (Oct. 5) morning.
At around 4:40 a.m. Sunday, Kamloops RCMP say officers responded to the 1300-block of Summit Drive where Kamloops Fire Rescue reported four fires had been set in less than 20 minutes.
Then after 7:00 a.m., police say a call was received for a pair of fires on Columbia Street West, outside of CFJC’s studio and Grandview Terrace.
In a news release issued Monday morning, RCMP say a man who matches a description from a witness regarding the 7:00 a.m. fires was arrested. However, police say there was insufficient evidence to advance charges and he was later released.
