New hours of operation in effect for libraries in Barriere and Clinton

KAMLOOPS — The Thompson-Nicola Regional Library (TNRL) has announced new hours of operation at libraries in the communities of Barriere and Clinton.

In a statement, the TNRL said the new hours, which took effect on Wednesday (Oct. 1), come after staff analyzed library use patterns and reviewed the responses from library patrols who were surveyed in the spring of 2025.

Both libraries will be closed on Sunday and Monday while the Clinton branch will also be closed on Friday.

“Clinton Library will now be open four days a week instead of three, and Barriere Library hours will better align with patron usage,” said Melissa Lowenberg, the TNRL’s Manager of Community Libraries and Engagement.

“Both changes are cost-neutral with no additional cost to taxpayers.”
