HOPE, B.C. — All five Othello Tunnels and the Kettle Valley Rail (KVR) Trail are now fully open for the rest of the season, which ends on Oct. 31

The District of Hope announced Friday (Oct. 3) that the tunnels, located in the northern section of Coquihalla Canyon Park, have reopened to visitors after ongoing restoration following the floods of Nov. 2021.

This latest phase of work included new bridges, trail resurfacing, and slope stabilization. The tunnels were partially reopened in the summer of last year, and another section was opened earlier this year.

“Thank you to BC Parks and project crews for their work on this restoration project!” wrote the District. “Plan your visit soon and enjoy this iconic piece of Hope’s history while the season lasts!”
