Kamloops firefighters battle small fire along Columbia Street West

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops firefighters made quick work of a grassfire along Columbia Street West Friday (Oct. 3) afternoon.

Crews were called to the 700-block of Columbia Street West near Sahali Terrace around 12:15 p.m. Friday. They arrived to find a small fire, approximately 20 feet by 20 feet in size, burning down a steep embankment.

Westbound traffic on Columbia Street was briefly down to one lane as firefighters battled the blaze, though its not clear what caused this fire.
