Arrest made in Saturday assault in Kamloops; RCMP searching for missing backpack
KAMLOOPS — Police in Kamloops say a suspect is in custody in connection with a serious assault that took place early Saturday (Sept. 27) morning.
Kamloops RCMP did not release any more details about the person they have in custody, saying “no further details regarding the investigation can be shared at this time as the file remains ongoing.”
They did say the victim — who was previously identified as a 39-year-old Kamloops man — is suffering from serious life-threatening injuries. Police noted the assault took place in the 700-block of Notre Dame Drive.
RCMP said Thursday (Oct. 2) that the Serious Crime Unit is leading the investigation owing to the “severity of the incident.”
