WHEN IS THE CITY OF KAMLOOPS going to rid our streets of weeds? We have a beautiful city and I am wondering why the City of Kamloops refuses to put any effort into weeding our streets, sidewalks, etc.
If you drive down pretty much any street in Kamloops, you will find trees growing where weeds once started. If you drive down Valleyview Drive toward downtown, you will see a few new trees flourishing out the cracks of the overpass above. Any visitor coming into Kamloops will see the disgraceful site immediately.
We pay lots of taxes and these weeds need to be addressed. What an eyesore. Weeds do not just grow into trees — they take lots of time to grow. Looking at them, you can tell it has been some time now since anyone from the city has even taken any action to this. Can you not see them? You drive by every day and nobody pulls their tax-paid vehicle over to axe down these trees. Downtown looks like a dump in most places because of lack of weeding, whether on city land or the business owners’ land.
Street view is what a lot of people see passing through Kamloops and, from what I see, this town needs a lot of TLC. Time to step up, Kamloops, and take care of our city. It’s almost as disgraceful as our city council on most days. Put our tax money to work and let’s make Kamloops beautiful again. All these new buildings and infrastructure going up and nothing but weeds to welcome everyone going by.
