Rainfall warning for B.C.’s Howe Sound, parts of Metro Vancouver

VANCOUVER — Heavy rainfall is in the forecast for parts of British Columbia’s south coast as a frontal system pushes through the region.

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for the North Shore section of Metro Vancouver, as well as for Howe Sound stretching into Squamish.

It says up to 60 millimetres of rain can be expected before the system passes Monday afternoon.

The weather agency says the heavy rain is expected to reduce visibility and create pooling water on roads, making travel challenging for motorists.
