Blazers’ Zahejsky, Ravndahl out long term; team looks to keep hot hand without them
KAMLOOPS – Although the Kamloops Blazers came away with four points against the Seattle Thunderbirds last weekend, it didn’t come without some unfortunate news as the team lost two impact players to injuries.
Head Coach Shaun Clouston confirmed Monday that 20-year-old defenceman Rhett Ravndahl will be out long term with a knee injury suffered in Friday’s 4-3 win. Import forward Vit Zahejsky, who was stretchered off the ice Friday after taking a hit from Seattle’s Kaleb Hartmann, is also expected to miss 4-6 months after successful surgery on Sunday.
If there is a positive for this Blazers team, it’s the goal-scoring. The team shows no lack of offence, finding the back of the net 16 times over its first three games.
