KAMLOOPS — Both Thompson Rivers University (TRU) WolfPack soccer teams fell on the road Friday (Sept. 26).

The WolfPack men’s soccer team was shut out in Vancouver 2-0 by the No. 1 ranked University of British Columbia Thunderbirds.

Meanwhile, the WolfPack women’s team got a goal from striker Esi Lufo – her eighth of the 2025 Canada West season – but they fell to the Trinity Western Spartans in Langley 2-1.

“We are obviously disappointed not to get anything out of the game because I think we deserved something, but we played a team ranked in the top ten in Canada and went toe-to-toe again,” Mark Pennington, WolfPack women’s soccer head coach says. “Barring a little luck around the goal I think we get something out of the game.”

The men’s WolfPack team is second last in the Canada West Pacific division with one win, nine losses and one draw in 11 matches.

The women’s WolfPack team is third in the Pacific division with five wins and four losses, good for 15 points in nine matches. The top four teams in the Pacific advance to the Canada West postseason quarter-finals.

Both TRU teams remain on the road Saturday (Sept. 27). The men are on Vancouver Island to play the University of Victoria Vikes at 7:15 p.m. while the women are in Abbotsford to take on the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades at 7:00 p.m.
