Merger plans hatched to save high school football season for Kamloops teams
KAMLOOPS — The B.C. High School Football Association season is underway and two teams from Kamloops will compete in the AA/AAA Varsity Interior Division.
Hopes for a Valleyview Vikings senior team did not materialize in time for the 2025 season and the Westsyde Whundas were short on numbers, so the schools combined to form a team that plays out of Westsyde.
The South Kamloops Titans are also in the division.
Meanwhile, the undermanned Vikings and Titans have combined to form a junior varsity team, while the Westsyde junior varsity squad appears to be thriving, with more than 30 players on the roster.
