On eve of WHL season, Blazers talk expectations, assess B.C. Division
KAMLOOPS — Overage forward Jordan Keller endured the lean period that followed the 2023 Memorial Cup, with his Kamloops Blazers failing to qualify for the post-season in back-to-back years.
“This year is going to be the year for us to make the playoffs,” said Keller, who was third in team scoring last season. “The past couple of years, it’s been a bit of a struggle. This year, it’s going to change. This year is going to be a playoff year for us.”
Blazers’ head coach and general manager Shaun Clouston is confident his club is poised to take a step forward this season, which begins on Saturday (Sept. 20) with a tilt against the Spokane Chiefs, a 6:00 p.m. start at Sandman Centre.
