BC Wildfire Service responding to new wildfire near McLure
MCLURE, B.C. — Firefighters are responding to a new wildfire that is currently burning west of McLure in the North Thompson.
According to the BC Wildfire Service, the one-hectare fire is burning in the Stuart Lake area near Jamieson Creek, north of the City of Kamloops.
The BC Wildfire Service has a team of firefighters on site working to extinguish this suspected human-caused fire.
Firefighters in Barriere and Chu Chua say they’re aware of the fire and are monitoring the situation. According to the Barriere Fire Department, the BC Wildfire Service will be dispatching more crews to this blaze.
