KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers have signed another 19-year-old forward who made an impression at WHL training camp over the Labour Day long weekend.

The Blazers have signed Cooper Moore to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. He’s the second 19-year-old forward – after Josh Evaschesen – to earn a spot on the Blazers after a successful training camp.

Moore, the Red Deer native was listed by the Blazers in December, and he spent last season with the AJHL’s Lloydminster Bobcats. He had 15 goals and 50 points in 42 games in the 2024-25 season, and had 26 goals and 56 points in 38 games for the Red Deer Chiefs U18 AAA team the season prior.

He will be going into his first of two possible seasons in the WHL, and he had previously committed to playing NCAA Division I hockey at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

“We would like to welcome Cooper and his family to the Kamloops Blazers Hockey Club,” Blazers head coach and general manager Shaun Clouston said. “Cooper has earned a spot in Kamloops with his play and we are excited to be a part of his development.”

Moore and Evaschesen are among four 19-year-old forwards still on the Blazers roster after Max Sullivan, Escalus Burlock and Nishaan Parmar were released earlier this week.

The Blazers are gearing up for their final two preseason games against the Prince George Cougars this weekend. They’ll play at Sandman Centre this Friday (Sept. 12) and at the West Fraser Centre in Quesnel on Saturday.

They will then open the 2025-26 WHL regular season at home against the Spokane Chiefs on Saturday, Sept. 20. More information about the Blazers regular season schedule is here.
