Former Blazers captain Connor Zary signs three-year extension with Calgary Flames
CALGARY — Former Kamloops Blazers captain Connor Zary has signed a three-year, US $11.325 million contract extension with the Calgary Flames.
The new contract carries an annual cap hit of US $3.775 million and it will expire after the 2027-28 NHL season, after which Zary will become a restricted free agent.
The 23-year-old Zary was coming off his entry-level contract, which he signed in Dec. 2020. The Saskatoon native put up 13 goals and 27 points in 54 games last season before he suffered a lower-body injury.
A first round pick of the Flames in the 2020 NHL Draft, Zary has 27 goals and 61 points in 117 career NHL games with Calgary.
