100 Mile House emergency department closed for most of Friday

100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — The emergency department in 100 Mile House will be temporarily closed for most of the day.

Interior Health says emergency services at 100 Mile District General Hospital will be unavailable from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday (Sept. 5).

All other inpatient services will continue at 100 Mile Hospital, but residents in need of emergency care are asked to travel to Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake.

It’s the 17th temporary closure of the 100 Mile House emergency department in 2025.

As has been the case during past emergency room closures, Interior Health said people should call 9-1-1 if they need emergency care, or HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 if they aren’t sure if they need to head to the emergency room.
