More than $45M in contracts awarded for Kamloops Centre for the Arts
KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops is expecting to break ground this fall on the new Kamloops Centre for the Arts. The project received public assent last year, then survived a legal challenge from residents, paving the way for construction to begin in October.
As the city looks to begin the multi-year project, it has awarded more than $45 million to four vendors for the build, including a pair of companies with ties to Kamloops.
Interior Plumbing and Heating was chosen for a $13.9 million contract, while Westcana Electric was given $9.3 million. The other two companies both have their head offices located in Edmonton — Collins Industries (DBA Collins Steel) for $15.9 million and KERR Interior Systems for $7.6 million.
