KAMLOOPS — Bethany Evans and Alicia Evans of the Kamloops Curling Club are among 20 recipients of Curling Canada youth scholarships this year.

Alicia Evans of Thompson Rivers University earned a Fran Todd All Heart Scholarship, given to student-athletes who embody the values of curling, place a high priority on giving back to the sport and are passionate about sharing curling with their communities, according to a Curling Canada press release.

Bethany Evans of the University of Alberta received the For the Love of Curling Scholarship, intended for young Canadian athletes who excel in curling, maintain a good level of academic standing and demonstrate a strong commitment to their communities.

“Through the two unique streams of our scholarship program, we’re proud to be investing equally in the future builders and future champions of our sport,” Brodie Bazinet, Curling Canada’s director of philanthropy and youth impacts, said in the press release.
