RCMP investigating death related to assault report in Valemount

VALEMOUNT, B.C. — The BC RCMP North District Major Crime Unit is investigating a death in Valemount.
On Tuesday, Aug. 26, Valemount RCMP say officers responded to an assault report at a home on Pine Road in the village.
In a news release, police say a man and woman were found at the home with serious injuries and sent to Valemount Health Centre. Police say the man died shortly after.
Investigators don’t believe there’s an ongoing threat to the public. RCMP say they are not releasing further information to protect the integrity of the investigation.
