RCMP investigating after man cut with machete in downtown Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — Police are investigating after a man was “cut with a machete” on a busy downtown Kamloops street Thursday (Aug. 29) afternoon.
In a news release, RCMP say they were called just after 1:30 p.m. Thursday to reports of an assault with a weapon on the 300-block of Victoria Street after several bystanders reported that a man had been cut with a machete.
According to police, officers from Kamloops as well as an off-duty Lillooet officer intervened in an assault where a man was attacking another with a metal pipe.
RCMP Cst. Sofie Winkels said police located the four men who were involved in both incidents, adding they were known to each other. She also said a 31-year-old man was arrested for assault with a weapon.
