Hunter of Kamloops wins national kayak gold

KAMLOOPS — Harris Hunter of the Kamloops Canoe and Kayak Club earned a gold medal at the Canoe Kayak Canada Sprint National Championships on Tuesday [Aug. 26] in Regina.

Hunter placed first in the under-18 men’s one-person kayak 200-metre event, posting a time of about 37.5 seconds to finish atop the podium.

Michael Chaban (0:37.658) of Ontario and Conrade Senobe (0:37.669) of Nova Scotia placed second and third, respectively.
