RCMP investigating weekend drowning in Tobiano

TOBIANO, B.C. — Details are limited but Tk’emlups RCMP have confirmed that they are investigating a drowning that occurred Saturday (Aug. 23) evening in Tobiano.

While police say no further details are being released as work to notify next of kin is underway, a Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) spokesperson told CFJC Today that two ambulances were dispatched to the area around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

“No one was treated or transported to hospital,” the PHSA statement said.

Firefighters from Tobiano and RCMP officers were also on scene at Bruker Marina Saturday evening.
