CLEARWATER, B.C. — First responders and volunteers were quick to respond to a vehicle fire in Wells Gray Provincial Park Monday (Aug. 18).
The Upper Clearwater Volunteer Fire Brigade said it was deployed north of the Mushbowl bridge near Dawson Falls where a vehicle had driven off the road and caught fire.
In a post to social media Monday night, the volunteer wildland firefighting group said the fire had spread to a nearby tree but RCMP members on scene kept it from spreading further.
When its volunteers arrived on scene, the brigade said the vehicle was still smoking although they were able to douse the vehicle, nearby hot spots and the surrounding area with nearly 700 gallons of water.
