Emergency room in 100 Mile House to close for 14 hours this weekend
100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — Residents in the 100 Mile House area will be without emergency room coverage for 14 hours this weekend.
Interior Health says the emergency room in the community of about 2,000 people will be closed from 6:00 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 16) evening to 8:00 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 17) morning. People in need of emergency care are being directed to Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake an hour away.
This is the 16th emergency room closure at the 100 Mile House District General Hospital this year and the fourth this month.
As has been the case during past emergency room closures, Interior Health said people should call 9-1-1 if they need emergency care, or HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 if they aren’t sure if they need to head to the emergency room.
