Chase residents asked to ‘be careful’ about water usage after Wednesday power outage at treatment plant
CHASE, B.C. — The Village of Chase is once again asking residents to be careful about their water usage, one day after a bird strike led to a malfunction at the community’s water treatment plant.
In an alert issued Thursday (Aug. 14) morning, the Village of Chase said it was directed by Interior Health to remind users of the water system “to be careful” about how much water they’re using. It says that’s because the system is currently drawing water from a backup well.
“The water quality is meeting all drinking water standards,” the statement said. “Another notification will be provided when normal water usage can resume.”
Residents in Chase were told to immediately cut their water use Wednesday (Aug. 13) morning. The water treatment plant was back online around 1:00 p.m. yesterday.
