KAMLOOPS — Hundreds gathered outside of Kamloops United Church on Aug. 13, 2024, while it burned and firefighters worked to quell the blaze that resulted from an electrical fire inside the edifice.

The sanctuary and basement sustained significant damage, along with other areas of the church, including the kitchen used for the Pit Stop program, which provides meals for those who suffer from food insecurity.

One year after the blaze, representatives from the church and Pit Stop program spoke with CFJC Today on Wednesday (Aug. 13) and offered updates on the St. Paul Street edifice restoration process.
