Water Plant Malfunction

UPDATE: Chase water system back online

CHASE, B.C. — UPDATE (2:10 p.m.): Chase officials say the water treatment plant is back online.

EARLIER: The Village of Chase is urging residents to cut their water use immediately after a malfunction at the community’s water treatment plant.

According to a Voyent Alert! message distributed Wednesday morning (Aug. 13), a bird strike cut power to the water plant, disabling its pumping capabilities.

The village says crews are working to get the pumps back online.

In the meantime, Chase residents are asked to reduce their water consumption to avoid putting the community’s supply of safe drinking water at risk.
