UPDATE: Clearwater emergency department reopens after brief closure
UPDATE (9:15 a.m.): Interior Health says the emergency department at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital has reopened.
EARLIER: CLEARWATER, B.C. — Emergency services in the District of Clearwater will be unavailable for most of Tuesday (Aug. 12).
Interior Health says the emergency department at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital will be temporarily closed from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. A reason for the temporary closure was not provided in a news release issued overnight.
Residents in Clearwater and area in need of life-threatening emergency care are asked to call 9-1-1 or visit Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops or 100 Mile House District General Hospital.
