Gavin Dodd of Kamloops wins double-mini trampoline bronze at 2025 World Games

CHENGDU, CHINA — Kamloops athlete Gavin Dodd is a bronze medalist at the 2025 World Games in Chendgu, China.

The 21-year-old Kamloopsian beat Australia’s Troy Sitkowski in the men’s double mini-trampoline bronze medal matchup Saturday (Aug. 9). Dodd finished with a score of 29.000 to Sitkowski’s 26.500 at the Dong’an Lake Sports Park Multi-Function Gymnasium.

Dodd, who trains at the Kamloops Gymnastics and Trampoline Centre, finished the eight-person qualification round in first place with a score of 58.000, while Sitkowski was second with 56.000.

The two athletes lost their respective semi-finals – Dodd lost to silver medalist Omo Aikeremiokha from Great Britain (30.400 vs 28.600) while Sitkowki lost to gold medalist Brent Deklerck of Belgium (28.600 vs. 28.100).

Deklerck was third after the qualification round with a score of 55.900 while Aikeremiokha was fourth with a score of 54.200. The Belgian athlete came out on top in the gold final with a score of 26.800 to Aikeremiokha’s 25.900.

The World Games are an international event featuring sports and sporting disciplines that are not contested as part of the Olympic Games. It is governed by the International World Games Association, under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee.
